When Is The Sift Coming to Minecraft?
What the official announcement says about The Sift debut in Dungeons II and the planned 2027 Java and Bedrock release.
The Sift has two relevant release milestones. It debuts in Minecraft Dungeons II, while the official announcement places the Java and Bedrock release in 2027. The announcement does not provide a precise vanilla launch day.
Release status by version
| Version or product | Current source-backed status |
|---|---|
| Minecraft Dungeons II | The Sift debuts in this experience. |
| Minecraft Java Edition | Planned for 2027; no public vanilla entry method is listed in the announcement. |
| Minecraft Bedrock Edition | Planned for 2027; no public vanilla entry method is listed in the announcement. |
These points come from the official Xbox Wire announcement. It also identifies Meadows and Carapace as known Dungeons II biomes.
Is there an exact launch date?
Not in the cited announcement. A year is not the same as a confirmed day or month, so a page that gives an exact vanilla date would need a newer official source. Do not use a mod page, add-on page, or community countdown as proof of the official Java or Bedrock release.
What should players do now?
If you are playing Dungeons II, look for Rift-specific guidance rather than a vanilla portal recipe. If you are playing Java or Bedrock, treat 2027 as the announced target year and wait for an official update that explains availability, supported versions, and the actual entry method.
